Portugal is a country belonging to the European Union and a member of the Schengen Agreement. With a Schengen visa, you may enter one country and travel freely throughout the Schengen region during the validity of the visa. In the Schengen Office, you can obtain information regarding the countries that need a visa to enter a Schengen country.

If you are a citizen of a country not belonging to the European Union or to the Schengen Agreement, you are advised to contact a Portuguese embassy or consulate, where you can request further information.

The University of Aveiro and the SEF (Immigration and Borders Service) are coordinated in order to guarantee the issuance of an entry visa in Portugal.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has defined the following procedure to facilitate the obtaining of the visa.
Colleagues (not belonging to the Schengen Member States) who wish to participate in CAG27 must formalize the registration and payment and send a document signed by the Director of the Institution to which they belong attesting to their affiliation. This document should be send to the following email – eafsilva@ua.pt.
After validation of the information by the LOC the names of the colleagues who will participate in the Conference and that will issue the respective visa will be sent to the SEF who will contact the Portuguese Embassy/Consulate in the Country or the Embassy that represents Portugal in the respective country.
