The University of Aveiro (UA) was founded in 1973 and is now established as one of the top teaching and research institutions of higher education in Portugal. UA is also internationally recognized by its high quality performance on a broad range of disciplines and intends to enhance its position as one of the European’s leading universities for advanced research and teaching.

The University Campus is just 15 minutes’ walk from the historic city centre and boasts beautiful views over the Aveiro lagoon and a very impressive infrastructure. It comprises 42 buildings, including department and administrative buildings, conference halls, well-resourced laboratories, lecture and computer rooms, library, residence halls, bookshops, restaurants, cafes and bars, post office, bank, sports facilities and nursery, all designed by distinguished Portuguese modern architects. Meeting Facilities

The conference will take place in the ”Complexo Pedagógico” (Pedagogical, Scientific and Technological Complex, comprising two large Auditoriums for oral sessions, fitted with sound systems, data and video projection and a range of other AV and presentation equipment, marked as 23 in mapa-campus). Posters will be displayed place in the spacious hall of ”Complexo Pedagógico”.
